In a security operation, Venezuelan agencies captured a boat carrying a large quantity of narcotics. The event was directly announced by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during an international press conference.
The Head of State explained that the successful operation resulted in the legal interception of the vessel, which contained 3,600 kilos of cocaine. This significant seizure represents a severe blow to drug trafficking operations in the region.
During his speech, the President emphasized that the operation was carried out using proportional force against the individuals operating the boat. He reaffirmed the security agencies’ commitment to strict enforcement of the law.
Regarding the fate of the seized drugs, the president stated that the captured shipment will be destroyed through the appropriate mechanisms, following established protocols for these cases. He also highlighted the country’s vast experience in air and sea interceptions against organized crime.
The president also referred to the tensions with the United States, noting that its hostilities and threats aggravate bilateral communications. He stated that “relations are being destroyed by them”, emphasizing that the Venezuelan diplomacy does not operate under pressure or blackmail.
This massive seizure reinforces the Venezuelan government’s message about its active stance in the fight against drug trafficking. The operation demonstrates the ability of its security forces to directly impact drug trafficking networks.
