Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro declared that the threats of «North American imperialism» have had the opposite effect than expected, awakening the strength and unity of the Venezuelan people, whom he described as a «giant.» He made these statements during the opening of the Plenary Session of the Extraordinary Congress of the PSUV-JPSUV 2025.
During his speech, the Venezuelan president asserted that the nation’s independence and freedom have no alternative. Maduro emphasized that the defense of sovereignty transcends his personal image, stating: «It’s not Maduro, but a big history,» referring to the historic project of the Bolivarian Revolution.
In an audiovisual video posted on his channel on Telegram, the President was forceful in stating that “the people of Venezuela will never be humiliated [by foreign powers].” He directly blamed external military threats for galvanizing the national resistance.
In a tone of firm defiance, he reiterated the willingness of his government and followers to defend the homeland, even with weapons. “We are ready to take up arms to confront the Yankee invader on land and at sea,” he declared, reinforcing once again that this stance is part of a collective and historic struggle.
The PSUV-JPSUV event served as a platform to reaffirm the nation’s irreducible character in the face of any attempt at subjugation. The president described each year of his administration as a constant construction of paths toward victory, peace, stability, and national unity.
