President Maduro: Venezuela has the most advanced defense doctrine in the region

The defense doctrine of the Venezuelan State is classified as the most advanced in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is based on a strategic concept of security that definitively breaks with the colonial vision of the past, as affirmed the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

This new concept, founded by Commander Hugo Chávez, replaced the old doctrine that considered the people as an internal enemy. This change transformed the relationship between the Armed Forces and the State, moving it away from a vision aligned with foreign powers.

The current doctrine prioritizes an unarmed, peaceful, constitutional, and legal struggle. Its approach is integral, encompassing political, electoral, cultural, social, ideological, spiritual, and economic aspects for the defense of the nation.

The head of state emphasized that this model has been successfully tested against various aggressions. Since the coup d’état of 2002, the country has faced economic wars and even the riots of 2014 and 2017, overcoming them with a unified strategy and an organized people: «We have faced them all with a strategy, a doctrine, a plan, and a united people,» he asserted.

A fundamental pillar is the Homeland Plan of the Seven Transformations, which seeks national development. The success of the Bolivarian economic plan has enabled diversified, productive, and expanding growth:

«Going backward is no alternative for us. Independence has no alternative. The rebellious freedom of our people has no alternative. The Republic has no alternative,» he said, going on to state that Venezuela will never bow down to any power.

The doctrine is based on the unity of the people, the state, and the FANB. President Maduro defines it as Venezuela’s atomic bomb: an empowered people throughout the country, determined to defend their independence and freedom without bowing to foreign powers.
