President Maduro: US military deployment Is a global embarrassment

President Nicolás Maduro qualified the US military deployment in the Caribbean as a global embarrassment. He denounced the serious presence of a nuclear submarine aimed at a peaceful people, flagrantly violating the regional consensus that declares these territories as zones of peace.

He asserted that, far from intimidating, these actions only make the Venezuelan people to be “full of indignation, rage, nationalism, and patriotism.» He reaffirmed that the country will respond to the threats with the firm conviction of guaranteeing peace and national security, resisting any attempt at subjugation.

The president harshly criticized the language used by the international media. He argued that terms like «tensions are rising» are euphemisms that seek to normalize the aggression of a powerful nation against a peaceful nation, comparing the situation to a «Goliath versus David.»

He also denounced the US government’s reliance on a disinformation campaign, which he called «kings of fake news,» to try to justify what he considers unjustifiable: a baseless military escalation.

The head of state explained that this deployment includes eight warships, 1,200 missiles, and a nuclear submarine near Venezuelan waters. He affirmed that this strategy responds to a «regime change» plan to impose a government serving the interests of the US oligarchy.

In the face of this threat, he highlighted the support of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). This backing reaffirms the regional commitment to the defense of peace, stability, and development, strengthening Venezuela’s position and demonstrating unity against militarization.
