The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced the activation of the Peace Quadrants throughout the country. The measure seeks to strengthen citizen security from the Presidential Command Post.
From Miraflores Palace, the head of state declared: «Thursday of Peace Quadrants, Thursday of peace, security, harmony, stability, love, and progress.» He was accompanied by the First Lady, Cilia Flores, and military and civilian authorities.
He emphasized that this strategy represents the «third T»: the transformation for peace and security. The stated objective is to combat mafias and criminal gangs in the country.
The activation is part of the 7 Transformations Plan, Law of the Republic 2025-2031. As part of this plan, 15,751 Popular Integral Defense Bases will be put into operation nationwide.
Each unit of the Bolivarian National Militia will have these bases. The plan is aimed at strengthening the integral defense through territorial organization.
The President affirmed his conviction in the direction taken by the Bolivarian project: «We are condemned to overcome for peace and for life,» he concluded during the first part of the activity.
