The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has issued a strong denunciation of the «Miami mafia» and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for orchestrating a campaign to destabilize and persecute Venezuelan migrants, amidst an escalation of the aggression by the US.
During his speech, the head of state rejected the narratives constructed by imperialism to justify its actions against progressive governments. He described them as «Hollywood-style» stories “where they are always the good guys and we are the bad guys,» affirming that these strategies seek to pursue socialist projects and then admit mistakes when the damage is already done.
The president pointed to two fundamental reasons for the current attack against Venezuela: interest in the country’s vast oil reserves and an attempt to erase the continental Bolivarian project. He emphasized that the goal is to end the example of a liberating project that prioritizes grassroots democracy and avoids allocating the national budget to wars and invasions.
He directly targeted Marco Rubio and the so-called «Miami mafia,» identifying them as the masterminds of the campaign of persecution and destabilization. In strong terms, he called Rubio a «fascist» and identified him as «the true power behind the attacks,» also questioning the US military deployment in the Caribbean.
President Maduro also revealed that he has compelling evidence, obtained through contacts with international intelligence, that confirms the existence of a conspiracy network operating from Miami. He asserted that the credibility of these accusations has been eroded: «Marco Rubio’s problem is that no one believes in his lies,» he reflected.
Finally, the dignitary reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to the defense of national sovereignty and peace. In the face of external threats, he emphatically stated: «There will be peace in Venezuela,» and concluded that with the efforts and support of the people, this new imperialist threat will be overcome.
