Alleged US attack in the Caribbean Is an AI recreation

The Vice President for Communication and Culture, Freddy Ñáñez, categorically demonstrated that a video presented as evidence of an alleged attack on a vessel in the Caribbean is actually a recreated video generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The video, released by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, was analyzed and found to be inauthentic.

The senior official directly accused Marco Rubio of using false content, questioning his intent and credibility: «It seems that Marco Rubio continues to lie to his president; after leading him into a dead end, he is now giving him a video (thus proven to be AI) as ‘proof,'» stated the senior official on social media.

The technical analysis carried out on the material indicates several inconsistencies that reveal its artificial origin. Among the clearest indications is a simplified and unrealistic animation of the explosion, which more closely resembles a motion graphic than a real event captured on video.

Likewise, were detected anomalies in the stylization of the environment. The water and motion effects exhibit visual artifacts, unnatural textures, and details typical of results generated by AI algorithms, lacking the complexity of real footage.

The inclusion of superimposed elements, such as text reading «UNCLASSIFIED» and a watermark of unknown origin, was another point highlighted. These additions reinforce the fact that this is a digital manipulation intended to give the content an appearance of official veracity.

This case is part of the growing global concern about deepfakes, or synthetic videos. This kind of content, generated by AI, is frequently used in disinformation campaigns, in addition to being used in entertainment and art, posing a challenge to the veracity of the information.

Finally, Vice President Ñáñez strongly condemned the use of these tactics to promote aggressive narratives. With a direct message, he concluded: «Enough, Marco Rubio, of inciting war and trying to stain President Donald Trump’s hands with blood,» warning of the dangers of justifying war actions with fraudulent material.
