President Nicolás Maduro led the closing ceremony of the Second Course on Revolutionary Special Operations (COER) in the Macarao parish of Caracas. The event is part of the strengthening of the national operational capacity to face potential external threats.
More than a thousand combatants completed the intensive 74-day training cycle, designed to consolidate the strategic response to destabilization attempts. The training program is framed within the Venezuelan doctrine of peace and national security.
During the ceremony, tactical maneuvers were executed that demonstrated the preparedness of the FANB’s special units. These exercises aim to guarantee the country’s stability and preserve the legacy of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
The head of state was accompanied by the Vice President of Policy, Security, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, and the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López. The presence of civilian and military authorities demonstrated the cohesion of the national defense strategy.
President Maduro expressed his admiration for the demonstrations carried out by the 129 commandos and congratulated all participants. He highlighted the liberating nature of the Venezuelan military forces in contrast to what he described as the «imperial forces» of other countries.
The president emphasized Hugo Chávez’s legacy: «He planted seeds in fertile minds, hearts, and souls. This is the strength that Chávez planted: the fusion of the People-Military-Police.» He emphasized that the defense of the homeland is in the hands of those who love it.
The national defense system remains operational 24 hours a day, year-round. The head of state guaranteed the protection of Venezuelan territory and affirmed that the forces are advancing «with greater power and strength» in their security deployment.
