The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed the absolute operational capacity of the National Defensive System. The president emphasized that the deployment is continuous, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to guarantee sovereignty and confront what he described as «imperial threats» from the United States and its allies.
Through his channel on Telegram, the head of state emphasized the uninterrupted nature of national defense. «There is no rest. We are deployed. Let no one touch Venezuelan territory, because it is ours and we guarantee it. We are moving forward with greater power and strength every time,» he wrote.
As a fundamental pillar of this strategy, 164 Rapid Reaction Units (URRAS) are activated throughout the country. These units are key to strengthening combat capabilities and are a central part of the fight against drug trafficking and terrorism, according to official information.
In this regard, President Maduro reiterated that, thanks to the work of these security agencies, Venezuela is free of coca leaf cultivation and cocaine production. He affirmed that the country is successfully combating the small percentage of international drug trafficking that attempts to use Venezuelan routes.
In parallel with the operational deployment, the national readiness days were extended until Friday, August 29th and Saturday, August 30th. This first phase incorporates popular forces to defend national sovereignty and peace in the face of contingency scenarios.
The president called for national unity, concluding: «We Bolivarians and revolutionaries are better organized, more cohesive. This is about the Homeland; Venezuela belongs to all Venezuelans.»
