Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed the key role of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) as guarantors of the country’s sovereignty. During his «With Maduro+ Peace and Security» program, he emphasized that the FANB represents the armed people and has the mission of protecting the national territory from any aggression.
Maduro emphasized that this institution has solid strategic foundations, a clear doctrine, and the capacity for immediate action, elements that are reinforced through ongoing training at the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela (UMBV). The objective, according to the president, is to protect the nation against internal and external risks.
In a historical review, the president recalled that Venezuela has developed an integral defense system, marking a new direction in its military tradition. He also noted that current threats are an opportunity to strengthen the country’s defensive capacity, ensuring that its territory remains invulnerable, a legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez and for future generations.
Maduro also warned that the pressures against Venezuela are part of a broader strategy of domination of Latin America by the US. In response, he emphasized that the Venezuelan defense system under construction has high-level theoretical and scientific support, in addition to highly trained officers, both academically and morally, in the region.
The president concluded by emphasizing that Venezuela’s independence must be defended, as the attempt at imperial control over the region must be stopped.
