From the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas, the President of the Legislative Branch, Jorge Rodríguez, along with representatives from various sectors of Venezuela, read this Friday a manifesto in support of President Nicolás Maduro, defending national sovereignty and peace in Venezuela, as well as in Latin America and the Caribbean as a conflict-free region.
During the event, presided over by the National Executive Branch, Rodríguez emphasized: «Today is not a day for political divisions, but rather a day to act united in defense of the homeland (…) Above our differences, we are all Venezuelans.»
The document rejects false narratives that threaten the country’s sovereignty, based on unfounded accusations and manipulated reports that attempt to legitimize the use of force. Furthermore, it urges the Venezuelan people to remain united in the face of internal and external threats that seek to undermine stability and hinder the progress of the Bolivarian Revolution.
Key points of the manifesto:
– Opposition to foreign interference: Media and psychological campaigns aimed at destabilizing the country and promoting violence are condemned.
– Commitment to peace and self-determination: Venezuela reaffirms its willingness to resolve conflicts peacefully and defend its sovereignty, in line with international law.
– Support for Nicolás Maduro: Rejection of hostile actions, threats, and terrorist plots against his mandate for the 2025-2030 period.
– Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace: Attacks against Venezuela endanger regional stability, and therefore the historic commitment to the sovereignty and security of its peoples is reiterated.
Rodríguez concluded his remarks by calling for unity and the strengthening of peace, «the most valuable destiny for our people, our women, our men, and the Bolivarian nations”, as he proudly stated.
