President Maduro promotes «More Books, Less Screens» campaign to save humanity

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, launched a powerful message through his social media: «Let’s save humanity. More books, less screens.» With this initiative, the president seeks to raise awareness about the effects of excessive use of technological devices and promote greater human connection.

He emphasized that this campaign is not an exaggeration, but rather a necessary struggle to rescue personal interactions: «Life is very short. We have to share it, to offer to your family, a little meal, a coffee,» he said, inviting the population to prioritize quality time without cell phone interference.

President Maduro’s call seeks to encourage more conversations, hugs, and genuine smiles, instead of the isolation generated by screens: «Let’s promote more embraced, loving families, and less time in front of devices,» he insisted, highlighting the importance of reconnecting with loved ones.

He also addressed the impact of technology on education, warning about the «cognitive warfare» promoted by many social media platforms. Therefore, he instructed educational authorities to present a Reading and Writing Plan in October, with the goal of strengthening critical thinking and reducing digital dependence in the classroom.

This campaign comes at a time when the world is debating the effects of massive technology consumption. The head of state insists that this is not an exaggeration, but rather a call to preserve the human essence.
