Head of State proposes transforming educational model to build a new society

During the closing ceremony of the First Pedagogical Congress of Bolivarian Teachers, held at the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, President Nicolás Maduro called for the modernization of teaching methods with the goal of forging a new generation and a Venezuelan society based on values such as harmony, peace, and knowledge.

In his speech, the president proposed designing a plan to renew pedagogical approaches, emphasizing the need to study the thought of Simón Rodríguez, whom he described as a «fundamental pillar of revolutionary pedagogy.» He also emphasized that education must be a «bastion of sovereignty,» integrating Rodríguez’s ideas with the training promoted by the State.

Maduro reiterated his commitment to a free, public education of excellency, oriented toward scientific, humanistic, and patriotic development, aligned with Venezuela’s vision as a nation with global reach. He also highlighted the inclusion of 625,000 children in the National Scientific Seedbed Program, an initiative that fosters integral education, promoting research and experimentation among young people.
