Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced the launch of “Operation Demolition of Lies and Infamy,” an initiative aimed at combating what he described as disinformation campaigns and media attacks promoted by sectors of the international ultra-right wing.
“The truth cannot be tainted, and in the face of slander, with God’s support, we will emerge victorious. We will identify those responsible for these acts and achieve a resounding victory. “I decree the beginning of this operation to dismantle the lies and infamy,” affirmed Maduro during an event in La Guaira to reinforce the Quadrants of Peace Plan.
He highlighted Venezuela’s progress in the fight against drug trafficking, asserting that the country is a regional and global leader in this area, despite external criticism. He also recalled the violent events of July 29 and 30, 2024, in which 27 people died and more than 300 were injured, in addition to the destruction of key infrastructure.
Maduro denounced that certain NGOs operate with funding of foreign bodies, such as the CIA, and seek to distort reality with projects such as the “fake committee of mothers for the freedom of the so-called political prisoners,” whom he linked to terrorist acts.
Furthermore, he praised Representative Diosdado Cabello for his report on the neutralization of an attack attributed to María Corina Machado: “Imperialism makes unfounded accusations, But we will continue to defend the truth and the revolution”, he stated.
He also highlighted the rescue of 252 Venezuelan migrants and rejected any government involvement in the «Tren de Aragua”. Finally, he emphasized the role of governors and mayors in consolidating a «new democracy» in Venezuela, which, according to him, will be a global example of peace and equality.
