Alert: Head of State warns of US interventionism in the region

President Nicolás Maduro expressed his «absolute solidarity» with South American countries facing what he described as «gringo interventionism» this Monday, while denouncing recent US actions in the region: «It’s the same situation that Venezuela has experienced for years,» he stated during his “Con Maduro+”program.

Maduro noted that several nations are experiencing interference in their internal affairs, including their judiciary and electoral processes, as occurred in his country. He recalled that in 2019, the US promoted the self-proclamation of Juan Guaidó, a political and media narrative that, according to him, some governments in the region «bought» without anticipating that they would later fall victim to similar strategies.

In an interview with TeleSUR journalists, the president recalled the attacks suffered since the Hugo Chávez era and highlighted the legacy of figures such as José Vicente Rangel. He also warned against attempts to create parallel powers in Venezuela, referring to Guaidó as “an interventionist experiment» to justify the economic war and undermine constitutionality.

Maduro held that his government has achieved stability and that, after seven democratic elections, a new opposition is emerging, free from right-wing violence: «Dialogue and institutionality have been preserved,» he stated, expressing his hope that this movement will consolidate its democratic vocation and loyalty to the country.
