The Bolivarian Government, led by President Nicolás Maduro, is promoting the simplification of key processes of the Great Mission Agro-Venezuela, with the goal of streamlining agricultural supply throughout the country. This announcement was made through his Telegram channel, where he highlighted the importance of strengthening food production as a vital strategic element for the country.
The president emphasized the need to improve the quality and quantity of agricultural production, not only to meet domestic demand but also to export surpluses. He also highlighted collaboration with agricultural producers as a fundamental part of transforming Venezuela into an agro-alimentary industrial power, in line with national economic development plans.
The Head of State recalled that the mission was restructured in 2020 in response to the impact of unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States. He emphasized that this initiative is a legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez, based on a doctrinal, scientific, and strategic approach to modernizing the Venezuelan countryside.
Thanks to the relaunch of the Great Mission Agro-Venezuela, the country has managed to reduce its dependence on agricultural imports and overcome shortages. The liberation of the productive forces in the countryside allowed for a significant increase in the supply of agroecological and organic foods, reaching 97% supply in agricultural products.
This advance has been key to consolidating food sovereignty, an achievement that is a source of pride for the Venezuelan government. With the new impulse to the mission, it is expected to achieve 100% self-sufficiency and position Venezuela as a benchmark in sustainable agricultural production in the region.
Thus the Great Mission Agro-Venezuela consolidates its position as a fundamental pillar of the country’s economic policy, promoting innovation, the inclusion of small and medium-sized producers, and strengthening food security for all Venezuelans.
