The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) experienced a growth of more than 6% in the second quarter of 2025, an indicator that reflects the progress in employment, production, and the country’s development. According to President Nicolás Maduro, this increase adds to the 9% growth recorded in the first quarter (January, February, and March).
The president emphasized that, despite attempts by the «extreme right wing» to intensify the economic war in the second quarter in order to halt sustained growth, the country has managed to overcome these challenges:
«I said that we were going to face it, that we were going to overcome it, with nerves of steel and calm, working and producing, because all circumstances have shown that only work defeats evil and economic war. Work and more work, and there we have it,» affirmed Maduro.
Venezuela has accumulated 17 consecutive quarters of economic growth, and consolidation of the data for the first half of 2025 is expected in the coming days. The president noted that GDP grew by 9% last year, 5.5% in 2023, and a remarkable 15% in 2022.
«The averages indicate good news,» emphasized Maduro, stressing that the Venezuelan economy continues to advance, driven by the 13 Engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda.
