President Maduro: Venezuela forges a new model of society and economic development after centuries of colonialism

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to its autonomy and economic development after centuries of colonial domination. Through a message on Telegram, the president emphasized that the nation has embarked on a path of sovereignty, building a new model of society and a diversified economic system.

In his message, the head of state recalled that, after 300 years of colonialism, Venezuela has managed to define its own course. In his words, this process has been “one of rebellion, insurgency, and liberation,» oriented toward building a society based on direct democracy and an economic model that takes advantage of the country’s natural resources.

The president gave a historical account, recalling the emergence of the revolutionary movement that brought Commander Hugo Chávez into power in 1998. He emphasized that this peaceful, constituent process laid the foundations for a new Republic, far removed from traditional patterns of domination.

He also asserted that Venezuela has developed a diversified economic system capable of generating wealth from its own potential. He underscored the importance of self-management and national production as pillars for achieving financial independence and reducing dependence on external factors.

Another aspect highlighted by the mandatary was the Venezuelan political model, based on direct democracy. This system allows for greater popular participation in state decisions, thus strengthening national sovereignty.

The president closed his message with a call for confidence in the country’s capabilities: «With the conviction that everything must be done in Venezuela, the nation seeks a prosperous and self-sufficient future, forged from within,» he expressed. He reiterated that the goal is to consolidate sustainable development, free from external interferences.
