Cabello warned that Ultra-Right Wing is planning attacks against the electrical and water systems of the country

Diosdado Cabello Rondón, Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace, warned that sectors of the ultra right-wing are planning attacks against the country’s electrical and water systems as part of their destabilizing plans against Venezuela:

«It’s not just a drug trafficking operation; it’s a plot of conspiracy, terrorism and gangs, and that’s why I insist they’ve lost their scruples. Today, they are planning attacks against electrical and water systems in Venezuela, today, right at this moment,» he stated during a press conference.

He stated that the ultra right wing‘s actions are due to the desperation of these groups. At the same time, he reiterated that «they want to terrorize the people» by recalling that these politicians’ plans included placing bombs and explosives in hospitals and police stations, among other places.

These people have no shame or scruples, and I have faith that (the other right-wing sectors) will finally disassociate from them, because many of those who participated (on the events of) May 25th come from Zulia state and have ties to corruption and these groups. I hope they disassociate from them,” he noted, reaffirming that they are the same ones who participated in the coup against Commander Hugo Chávez.

He emphasized that the reality is that there is an opposition participating in elections and the country is in calm and tranquility, despite those who want to disrupt the lives of Venezuelans:

The people feel at ease because security officials are not sleeping so that Venezuela may be at peace, at tranquility (…) here we are all happy with what we are doing,” he said, calling on all sectors to say that “it is time to stop being dragged down by those who want to bomb Venezuela.”

He reaffirmed that «we are preparing to defend our territory. We are not attacking anyone, but when it comes to defending the homeland, anything goes, and we will defend the homeland with whatever we have.»
