There has been revealed a plan by mercenaries from a paramilitary camp that moved from northern Ecuador into Colombian territory. They allegedly intend to move into Venezuela in July to carry out terrorist attacks aimed at paralyzing the elections on July 27 and demoralize the Chavista base of the revolutionary people, as denounced Diosdado Cabello, Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela:
«If they try anything like that, the Chavista people will be very upset and will turn out to vote even more forcefully,» responded the Minister of People’s Power for Internal Affairs and Justice, while reading a confidential report on his «Con el Mazo Dando” (Hitting with the Hammer) program.
He pointed out that «the same paramilitary camp located in a mountainous area in the department of Santander in Colombia, which we have already infiltrated, will attempt to move to Venezuela in the second week of July,» as reported the “Maracucho” compatriot.
