CNE publishes candidate nominations schedule for 2025 Municipal Elections

The National Electoral Council (CNE) published this Sunday the official schedules for nominations under the self-initiated modality and for the formation of groups of voters who will present candidates in the upcoming municipal elections, scheduled for July 27, 2025.

Through its Telegram channel, the CNE announces that citizens interested in running on their own initiative may request the form for collecting expressions of support starting Monday, June 9. The request must be made at the National Office of Political Participation, located at the CNE headquarters in Plaza Caracas (in downtown Caracas), or at the Regional Electoral Offices, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Subsequently, candidates must submit declarations of will forms representing at least five percent (5%) of the voters registered in the Electoral Registry corresponding to the territorial jurisdiction of the elected office, in accordance with Article 53 of the Organic Law on Electoral Processes.

The highest electoral body also published the schedule for the formation of electoral groups for the nomination of candidates for the municipal elections, to be held on July 27.

To this end, they must attend the same National Office of Political Participation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. this Monday, June 9, to request the application form for the name and acronym of the electoral group.

Once approved, interested parties must submit the necessary documents for the application for constitution, along with the required declarations of will, for evaluation by the National Electoral Council.
