The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, announced that the municipal elections to renew the mayors and council members will be held next Sunday, July 27, following approval by the organization’s governing body.
“The CNE, exercising the powers conferred upon it… approves convening for the municipal mayoral and council elections for July 27, 2025,” stated Amoroso at a press conference.
“Once again, the electoral season begins in the country, so candidates can begin their paperwork before the National Electoral Council,” he stated.
For his part, Amoroso reiterated that the date for the Popular Consultation for the Youth Projects election will also be July 27. He reported that, from this moment on, all candidates can submit their nomination paperwork until June 13, 2025.
He assured that the National Electoral Board (JNE) has approved the schedule for these elections, which will have the following «most important dates»:
-Cut of the Preliminary Electoral Registry: June 4
-Approval of the Final Electoral Registry: June 9
-Submission and acceptance of nominations: June 9-13
-Electoral campaign: July 11-24
His appearance comes just over a week after the regional and parliamentary elections were held on May 25.
