Venezuela in permanent offensive: Peace, justice, and sovereignty against terrorism

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and sovereignty during the recent inauguration of the governor of Sucre state, Jhoanna Carrillo.

In a forceful message, the President highlighted the ongoing fight against terrorism and drug trafficking, reporting on significant progress in neutralizing destabilizing groups.

A Precise Strike Against Cross-Border Terrorism:

President Maduro announced the capture of a group of terrorists in the eastern part of the country on June 2. They were in possession of a cache of weapons of war and were intending to enter Venezuelan territory through the border with Trinidad and Tobago. Half of this group were of Colombian nationality, highlighting the transnational nature of these threats:

«Brought across the Caribbean Sea to enter the country, we must have a thousand eyes and ears, because the terrorists have not been able to, nor they will,» stated the President, emphasizing the constant vigilance of the security forces and the inalienable right of the Venezuelan people to live in peace and tranquility: «We have the right to peace, to normalcy, to tranquility, and we will continue to consolidate it,» he emphasized.

Global solidarity and denunciation of Nazi terrorism:

In a context of international analysis, the head of state referred to the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine taking place in Turkey. In this regard, he strongly denounced the terrorist acts attributed to Nazi groups in Ukraine:

«In Russia, peace is being sought, and the more the Russian army advances against the Nazis in Ukraine, (the more) they commit terrorism, blow up bridges, and attack civilians. From Venezuela, we repudiate the Nazi terrorist attack against the Russian people’s right to peace”, stated the President. This statement underscores Venezuela’s firm stance against any form of terrorism and its solidarity with nations that look for stability and peace.

Economic resistance and Popular Victory:

President Maduro also emphasized that Venezuela has been the target of similar attacks, particularly in the economic sphere: «Because what they do is attack the economy,» he stated, referring to the destabilizing attempts that have sought to undermine the country’s economic stability. However, he emphasized that, during the first four months of the year, terrorist attacks on the economy were successfully neutralized thanks to the capture of important leaders of these groups. This victory, according to the President, is a demonstration of the resilience of the Venezuelan people and the effectiveness of the Bolivarian Government’s strategies to protect the economy and the well-being of the nation.
