Venezuela is currently positioned at the best political moment of the Bolivarian Revolution to consolidate an offensive of popular sovereignty, as declared this Thursday the constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, who led a work meeting with the High Political and Military Command of the Revolution, as well as governors and legislators recently elected on May 25.
«We are at the best political moment of all these years of resistance to consolidate an offensive of popular sovereignty, of People’s Power, of ordinary people becoming leaders and builders, in all communities,» he added. Therefore, the Venezuelan president asserted that what he sees «is a rebirth of a new union of Venezuelans, without distinction, without discrimination. I believe it is a new era, which can only be achieved through the Revolution.»
The unity would be «true, spiritual, political, and organic for our people.» He also challenged Venezuela’s political opposition, asking if they possessed a national project, «or if there is any leadership in the opposition that could lead the country to unity, prosperity, and growth,» he stated.
«At this meeting, I advocate for building the spirit of the new era, of the new stage, which must be with the spirit of seeking out everyone, of coming together to work. We are prepared for that,» he added, also reminding specific individuals in the audience of his door-to-door visits «to listen to the simple and humble people.»
«We have found the method and the path; we are in the best position to now build a democratic system fully committed to the principles of the Constitution, and that tells the world what true freedom and true sovereignty are,» he concluded.
