Upon leaving the ceremony for the appointment of representatives by the National Electoral Council (CNE), the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, stated that «Today the Parliament that will govern the Legislative Branch from January 5, 2026, to January 2031 is officially confirmed»
In the words of the president of the National Assembly, «a page is opening toward modernization, toward winning over the population and the welfare state,» he stated, announcing that the Legislative Branch is entering a new stage that involves modernizing the system.
He affirmed that «after the immense victory» last Sunday, the people of Venezuela have proven to be wise and have matured in the revolution.»
He also added that the wishes of the population should be affirmed only through voting.
Salute to the opposition factions:
For his part, Rodríguez saluted and congratulated the newly elected deputies by the opposition, and stated that «we must do constructive work in the immense task we have in the Legislative Branch.»
He said he hopes they «have learned the lesson» that «one can only obtain elected office through voting» in Venezuela.
