Today, Venezuela’s energy resources and massive oil and gas reserves belong to the people and are at the service of national development and fair, cooperative international relations,» stated Delcy Rodríguez, Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. She also emphasized that any nation interested in Venezuelan oil and gas must pay it.
This forceful response from the vice president is in response to statements by US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, who stated that President Donald Trump will seek to influence political change in Venezuela at all costs.
Rodríguez further emphasized that in the Bolivarian nation, only the force of law will prevail against any attempt to appropriate the country’s energy resources. He also recalled that the oil colonialism exercised by the United States during the Punto Fijo regime was eradicated by the Supreme and Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez, to consolidate the country’s energy sovereignty.
«Never more the tyranny of the hegemonic economic aggressor will return,» stated Rodríguez, reaffirming the national government’s stance on protecting its strategic resources.
Venezuela is strengthening its sovereign development model and ensuring that its natural resources are used for the well-being of the population and for equitable cooperation with other nations.
