The great significance gained from the China-Venezuela strategic partnership, which was materialized in September, was highlighted this Friday by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during a fraternal meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, which took place amid the (celebration of the) victory against Nazi-fascism.
The Venezuelan head of state expressed his satisfaction because, he argued, he is sure that this meeting will produce strong and precise guidelines for continuing to move forward together.
He told his colleague, who headed the Asian nation’s delegation, that in Venezuela, the People’s Republic of China enjoys a loyal friendship: «You know that in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela you have loyal friends and people willing to continue working for a new world.»
«I am very happy with my entire delegation for this opportunity amidst this wonderful atmosphere of victory in the Great Patriotic War,» said the Venezuelan dignitary, visibly moved, who has consistently emphasized the important ties of friendship, cooperation, and brotherhood between the two nations.

Additionally, during the meeting with his counterpart from the People’s Republic of China, the Venezuelan president emphasized that there is an inspiring atmosphere in Moscow due to the grand and moving celebration, led by the Russian people and the peoples of the former Soviet Union, for the victory over Nazi-fascism eighty years ago.
As a reflection, the head of state recalled that the intention that was born eighty years ago is very different today, maintaining that today’s peoples are truly on the threshold of a multipolar world, a scenario in which have emerged new axes of forces, new powers, superpowers such as the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation.
In this dynamic, he explained, an awakening is also emerging in new regions such as Latin America and the Caribbean: «Here we go with Bolívar’s ideal, to build an eminently popular and absolutely sovereign homeland with our own efforts and the great support of our older brother: the People’s Republic of China and the example it sets for the world.»
China, an example for the lessons it has taught:
He emphasized to his Asian counterpart that China is truly an example for the lessons it has taught and continues to teach, in the interest of building a community of shared destiny, where the right to development and a future are guaranteed.
Along these lines, he emphasized that the decision made by the two countries in September 2023 to establish a strategic partnership that will last forever and is bearing fruit:
«It was a decision taken appropriately and in a timely manner. I believe we can multiply the great results we are achieving,» he emphasized.
The Venezuelan delegation accompanying the President of Venezuela at this meeting was comprised of the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López; Minister of the Office of the President, Aníbal Coronado; Minister for Transportation, Ramón Celestino Velásquez Araguayán; Minister for Communications, Freddy Ñáñez; Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil; and the President of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), Héctor Obregón.
The President expressed his satisfaction at this working meeting and extended warm greetings to the Asian delegation, led by Xi Jinping.
For his part, President Xi Jinping agreed with his Venezuelan counterpart, stating that his commitment is to continue working together to consolidate the shared agenda that has been successfully promoted.
