As part of his official visit to the Russian Federation, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, met with the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kirill of Moscow, during his official visit to the Eurasian nation. The meeting provided a space for exchange in which both figures expressed mutual respect and addressed issues of common interest.
At the beginning of the meeting, the religious leader welcomed the Venezuelan head of state with a handshake, a symbol of friendship and recognition. The two subsequently discussed the role of faith in building societies based on respect and coexistence.
President Maduro emphasized Venezuela’s vision as a nation that promotes a multipolar world, founded on equality and respect among countries of different sizes and capacities: “Venezuela is emerging as a power based on respect, where we can coexist with large, medium-sized, and small nations, united as a single people,” he stated.
After the conversation, the officials took a brief tour of artistic spaces, where they shared insights into the culture and historical legacy. Likewise, they exchanged gifts as a gesture of fraternity.
