Cuba and Venezuela reaffirm alliances of respect, cooperation, and peace

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, met this Thursday in Moscow with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, in a meeting that highlighted both countries’ commitment to strategic cooperation and the building of solidarity alliances in a global context.

During the meeting, President Maduro emphasized the importance of these ties, stating: “Meeting with President Díaz-Canel in Russia is another demonstration to the world of how sovereign peoples build alliances of respect, cooperation, and peace. An excellent work day!” He also emphasized that “Cuba is not alone under any circumstances, nor will it ever be alone; Cuba will have the support of the peoples of the world and of sensitive, courageous, and humanistic governments.”

Presidents Maduro and Díaz-Canel shared enriching memories and anecdotes that reflect the deep brotherhood between their peoples, reaffirming their commitment “to continue strengthening our bonds of unity.»

The meeting was joined by representatives of the Venezuelan government, such as First Lady Cilia Flores; Chancellor Yván Gil; the Minister for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, and the Minister for Defense, GJ Padrino López, who contribute to the consolidation of this strategic alliance.

Cooperation between Venezuela and Cuba covers diverse areas, including health, sports, education, communications, food, science, and energy, underscoring the shared desire to work together for the well-being and sustainable development of both nations.
