“A Conviasa plane just landed from the United States with a stopover in Honduras. At first, they said 244 migrants were coming, but then they changed it to 170, and then they lowered it to 140. A big plane was sent, but only 71 repatriated migrants arrived, 62 men and nine women, and they did not send any minors,” stated Diosdado Cabello, Vice President of Policy, Citizen Security, and Peace, denouncing the disarray of the US empire in the repatriation of Venezuelan migrants.
During his “Con el Mazo Dando” (Hitting with the Hammer) program, Cabello questioned the lack of clarity in the figures for repatriated migrants and pointed out that the United States government is not complying with transfer procedures. He emphasized that the US administration is acting with «imperial arrogance» and demanded the return of Maikelys Espinoza, along with other Venezuelan minors separated from their families.
The Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace emphasized that the US government lacks a sound mind and demonstrates disorganization in handling the deportations of Venezuelan migrants, showing no real interest in the situation.
He maintained that these actions are part of a scheme of misinformation and obstacles imposed by the United States to hinder family reunification efforts: «They inform us of an initial number of passengers, but then the number changes. The US government is in disarray with these transfers,» he stated.
Since the reactivation of the Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland) Plan in February this year, more than 3,000 Venezuelans have returned to the country, where they have received assistance in healthcare, education, and social reintegration. Cabello emphasized that this policy responds to the commitment of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, to guarantee the well-being of Venezuelans affected by adverse situations abroad.
In this regard, he reiterated his call to U.S. authorities to guarantee the return of Venezuelan children who remain separated from their families, in addition to reaffirming his willingness to continue strengthening humanitarian efforts to benefit repatriated migrants.
