Fourteen years after the creation of the Great Mission Housing Venezuela (GMVV), which has aimed to provide dignity for Venezuelan families, the country has reached the historic milestone of 5,258,000 homes delivered, as announced this Wednesday by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros.
Referring to the «Giant Hugo Chávez» urban planning, the head of state emphasized that «our challenge is the daily, permanent victory of a people who have decided to be free, because no one has been born, nor will be born, to defeat the people of Simón Bolívar.»
This information was provided during the delivery of the homes in the Cayaurima sector, where four buildings consisting of four floors each and twenty apartments were delivered.
For his part, the Minister of People’s Power for Habitat and Housing, Raúl Paredes, noted that there are five towers in the urban development that are in the process of completion.
In this context, the Venezuelan President recalled that in 2017, he unveiled the milestone of 1.8 million homes in this state. That year, as he recalled, began the sanctions, which he called «the criminal missiles of the economic blockade,» intended to generate instability among the Venezuelan people (workers, business owners, and the general public):
«The Venezuelan People’s Government has made itself invulnerable to attacks (…) it has been worth it for our people to defend this process. We have to defend Venezuela, our right to happiness, to build our country with our own hands,» emphasized the President.
