Executive Vice President and Minister for Hydrocarbons, Delcy Rodríguez, met with Dai Houliang, President of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), to review strategic alliances in energy matters and investment projects.
At the meeting held in Beijing, which is part of the consensus contemplated through the All-Proof and All-Weather Strategic Partnership, both authorities celebrated Venezuela’s trade volume, with significant increases, especially in the energy industry.
The authorities emphasized that this growth is occurring despite the criminal blockade imposed against the Bolivarian nation by the United States (US) administration.
In addition, they condemned the tariff war launched by the US government and affirmed that such measures affect global trade.
CNPC is an integral international energy company, ranked third on the list of the world’s 50 largest oil companies and fifth on Fortune Global 500, as Rodríguez emphasized, noting that it is one of China’s leading producers and suppliers of oil and gas.
Previously, Rodríguez held a work meeting with Zheng Shanjie, Chairman of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
Both authorities reviewed compliance and achievements of the agreements signed in 2024 in the financial and energy sectors, and also reviewed the other alliances the two nations maintain in strategic areas such as science, technology, and agriculture.
