The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, leads a pre-election meeting with the candidates of the Great Patriotic Pole «Simón Bolívar” (GPPSB), who are running for the deputy elections to be held on May 25, 2025.
Among the 6,687 candidates presented by these groups are candidates for 24 governorships, as well as for regional legislative councils and the 285 principal and alternate deputies of the National Assembly. President Maduro emphasized that these upcoming elections will represent a resounding victory for democracy, the Constitution, and peace in Venezuela.
The Venezuelan president asserted that the Bolivarian Revolution is a real force and that the upcoming parliamentary elections are «an immense opportunity to reactivate the momentum and build a new revolutionary, Bolivarian, and resounding majority within the historic Venezuelan bloc for change and transformation.»
He also emphasized that these legislative elections represent a new challenge, and that he is confident that «it will be a new great victory, across the board,» to guarantee the country’s stability, peace, independence, sovereignty, and progress in Venezuela’s economic recovery.
The President emphasized that the candidates nominated for the elections for deputies represent a committed leadership forged through struggle, capable of achieving major transformations from the National Assembly (AN).
Along these lines, he urged the candidates to commit to the tasks ahead, because their commitment lies, he said, in helping advance the Bolivarian Revolution and thus continue to maintain peace throughout Venezuela:
«Your face is like the face of the Pope, sanctified, full of blessings (…), Venezuelans of the highest political and ethical standing. These are the candidates of the Homeland, the candidates of the Great Simón Bolívar Patriotic Pole!» expressed the head of state, in gratitude for the responsibilities they have carried out and those they are about to assume.
