Attorney General: Bukele is a serial human rights violator

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, announced that the Public Ministry sent a communication to the Attorney General’s Office and the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) of El Salvador regarding the legal remedies that have been filed in defense of our compatriots kidnapped at the Terrorism Confinement Center:

«We have asked the Attorney General’s Office and the Supreme Court of Justice of El Salvador to issue a statement regarding the unconditional release of our compatriots,» he stated at a press conference from the headquarters of the Public Ministry in Caracas.

He also stated that the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, admitted the crime of forced disappearance against approximately 260 Venezuelans. At the same time, he questioned the international organizations that remain silent in the face of these actions that violate the human rights of Venezuelans.

He (Bukele) has more than 260 Venezuelans missing in El Salvador in exchange for a payment of $7 million. He is making a profit from this criminal activity, and therefore, he is becoming a trafficker of Venezuelan nationals”, he denounced.

He pointed out that none of the compatriots detained in El Salvador have committed crimes in that country; therefore, he pointed out that there is no comparison with the people detained in Venezuela for assassination attempts against President Nicolás Maduro, among other terrorist actions to destabilize the country, in connection with the exchange proposed by Bukele.

For this reason, Saab described Nayib Bukele as a «serial violator of human rights» for the actions he has undertaken against Venezuelans, following orders from the United States.
