The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced the successful closing of the fourth edition of the Venezuela International Progressive Theater Festival (FITP2025).
Held under the inspiring motto: «Let humanity be human,» the event brought together works from 22 countries and stood out for its diversity and artistic quality.
Resounding Success:
The festival concluded in the emblematic Plaza de la Juventud (Youth Square) and he expressed his satisfaction with the magnitude of the show. «It was a masterful closing that should have been broadcast in its entirety. The experience was a tribute to the great theater festivals we enjoyed in the past, with groups such as Rajatabla,» Maduro commented during his “Con Maduro+” program.
Rebirth of the Theater Movement:
President Maduro also affirmed that this fourth edition of FITP2025 symbolizes a rebirth of the theater movement in Venezuela:
«The quality of the performances and their humanistic approach marked a new stage in our performing arts,» the President added, underscoring the importance of theater as a vehicle for cultural and social expression.

More than 400 new theater projects:
Furthermore, the minister specified that more than 400 Venezuelan theater projects are planning their participation in progressive international festivals, in an effort to relaunch the National Theater Festival, whose last edition took place in 1993.
