During an activity with commoners, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced that the National University of the Communes will be inaugurated on May 31, 2025, to focus on training professionals who respond to the needs of the country’s communities:
«The map of dreams of all communes and communal circuits needs engineer men and women,» he declared, while emphasizing that it is essential for the university to train these professionals to contribute to local development.
In this regard, he instructed the rector of the National University of the Communes, Jorge Arreaza, to recognize bachelor’s or technical studies and provide the knowledge and instruction required by these men and women who possess empirical knowledge:
«Knowledge must be applied through true 21st-century scientific socialism to create community leaders. We need to train economists to promote, for example, local production, or how many veterinarians we need for the country’s 5,338 Communes. That’s why we need to continue building People’s Power with extensive research,» reiterated President Maduro.
