During a day with men and women from the health sector, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, handed over several fully renovated health centers as part of the more than 100 projects recently completed for the well-being of the people in different regions of the country.

During a televised broadcast on the state TV station Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the first project delivered was the Los Dos Caminos In Diagnostic Center (CDI), located in the Leoncio Martínez parish, Sucre municipality, Miranda state.

This health unit will serve more than 12,000 medical cases per month and will benefit more than 114,000 residents, equivalent to 20,000 families.

The hospital offers the following services: trauma/shock care, nebulization, adult hospitalization and intermediate care, laboratory, X-ray, electrocardiogram, endoscopy tower, electroencephalogram, pregnancy care unit, pediatrics, dentistry, gynecology, vaccinations, and a comprehensive rehabilitation room.

The dialysis unit was equipped with 25 hemodialysis machines and will serve 200 patients per week, providing 2,600 dialysis sessions per week.

It also offers emergency services, an operating room, specialized consultations, hemodialysis rooms (one for negative patients and two for positive patients), a pharmacy, a conference room, and a height and weight room.

In Falcón state, the Dr. Pedro Iturbe Type II Specialized Popular Clinic was renovated, providing 1,800 monthly medical services, providing healthcare to more than 14,000 residents.

This facility will offer the following services: 24-hour emergency services, general consultations, X-rays, specialized consultations, a pharmacy, gerontology, and ophthalmology consultation and surgical treatment.

For his part, President Maduro, reflecting on the achievements of the national effort, asked the audience: «How do you build a free, high-quality public healthcare system?»

In his response, he explained that this is achieved, first and foremost, by restoring the facilities with the Military Communal Brigades for Education and Health (Bricomiles) and with the Together Everything is Possible Plan.

The second step is to provide equipment for these spaces, thirdly, to provide healthcare personnel, and fourthly, to produce medicines in Venezuela.
