The authorities of the National Electoral Council (CNE) announced this Wednesday a new schedule for the electoral elections scheduled for this 2025, leaving the Second Popular Consultation for April 27.
The president of the electoral body, Elvis Amoroso indicated the new date of the elections for positions of deputies of the National Assembly (AN), Governors and regional Legislative Council, will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Amoroso explained that the decision was made after the suggestion of «different democratic factors of the country», who participated in an analysis together with other national representations and which the CNE welcomed, as well as its rectors in full.
He also recalled that the Venezuelan Electoral System is the «strongest in the world» and thanked all the authorities for the attention paid to the electoral issue.
It should be remembered that the first schedule was announced on January 27 and established that the elections to choose the new deputies of the Venezuelan Parliament will be held next April.
After the announcement, the president of the CNE invited everyone to prepare for the new «democratic Electoral Party that Venezuela and the Electoral Power present to the Venezuelans.»
The dates for the electoral processes were announced by the body after last January, when authorities of the AN together with the National Commission of Dialogue, presented to the CNE the proposal of the electoral schedule, with a set of guidelines to be considered in order to develop the 10 electoral elections scheduled for this year.
