President Nicolás Maduro spoke out about the statement issued by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), in which are rejected the recent statements by Edmundo González Urrutia and stressed that the military body is «an independent and sovereign institution, which complies with the designs of protecting Venezuelans.»
«To all the People of Venezuela I share the statement of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, an independent and sovereign institution, which complies with the designs of protecting Venezuelans, guaranteeing internal security and territorial integrity at all strategic points,» says the post published on the head of state’s Instagram social network, along with the statement of the FANB.
He also stressed that Gonzalez Urutia’s statements only seek to destabilize the country and stressed that he will not be able to achieve this:
“«”Along with the People’s – police – military Power, we raise our voice in total rejection of the shameless message from Edmundo González Urrutia to the FANB, as part of his neo-fascist actions that seek to destabilize the Peace of the country. They will not be able to go against our morals and conviction! We Shall Overcome!”, he expressed.
