We commemorate 194 years of the day in which our Giant Liberator Simón Bolívar left for eternal life to leave us his doctrine, thought and example of ideas and action, of the man of difficulties who never tired of fighting for the freedom of an entire continent. Our Bolívar, Bolívar always, Bolívar as a challenge, Bolívar as a commitment, Bolívar as moral”, published the head of State.

The national leader stressed that the best way to honor him is through political ethics, with virtuosity, courage, selflessness and anti-imperialist loyalty.

Simón Bolívar was one of the most important heroes of the Latin American independence struggles by achieving the independence of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama and Bolivia, which freed them from Spanish colonialism. He founded the bases for the unity of the peoples of Latin America.

He died in Santa Marta, Colombia, on December 17, 1830. His remains were exhumed on November 20, 1842 to be sent to Caracas: «We invoke his name, spirit and sword of Independence and Liberty. We are with him and for him we continue for the greatest happiness, raising his flag, enlightening our People, the struggle of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the causes of justice in the world. Long live Bolívar in thought and action!» stated the head of State.
