The Bolivarian Government, in a new milestone for the Venezuelan health sector, announced the development and national production of kits for the diagnosis of HIV and dengue fever.
President Nicolás Maduro stated that this achievement will significantly reduce the costs associated with the importation of these medical supplies, thus strengthening the country’s health sovereignty.
During a television broadcast, the Dignitary highlighted: «In Mérida state, Venezuelan kits for the diagnosis of HIV and dengue fever are being developed, reducing the cost of these instruments by import by more than 50%. «
This measure represents a fundamental step for the economic stability of the country, by reducing the demand for foreign currency, as highlighted by the President.
The Venezuelan head of state also emphasized the importance of national production of medicines, saying: «Almost 100% of the drugs in Venezuela are produced here.»
In his speech, the President said that this policy seeks to prevent the flight of foreign currency and guarantee the population’s access to medicines at fair prices.
This announcement is especially relevant in a context that marks the path of impulse for national production, the Government seeks to guarantee the quality and safety of the medical supplies used in the country.
With this new achievement, Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to the development of a national pharmaceutical industry, capable of satisfying the needs of the population and reducing dependence on imports.
