National Government awarded “Order Bicentennial of Victory of Ayacucho” decoration to Venezuelans sanctioned by the United States

During the commemorative act of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, awarded the “Order Bicentennial of Victory of Ayacucho” decoration to 21 Venezuelans who have been sanctioned by the government of the United States.

The event took place at the Paseo Monumental Los Próceres, an emblematic place for national memory.

President Maduro, when presenting the distinction, which was approved unanimously and in the first discussion by the National Assembly on December 6, 2024, urged those awarded to proudly assume their status as heroes:

Make yourselves worthy of the sanctions that imperialism imposed on you, but above all, make yourselves heirs in the actions of the glories of this decoration that is awarded for the first time in Venezuela in 200 years,” said the head of State.

His words reflect a commitment to the resistance and dignity of the Venezuelan people in the face of the adversities imposed by imperialism.

Rejection of sanctions:

It should be noted that last November, President Nicolás Maduro condemned the sanctions imposed by the United States Department of the Treasury against 21 leaders and directors of the Bolivarian Revolution, during the commemorative ceremony of the 104th anniversary of the Bolivarian Military Aviation and the 32nd Anniversary of the Anti-imperialist Rebellion of November 27, 1992.

With patriotic fervor, the president urged unity and resistance in the face of what he considered external aggressions.
