Civil Protection and security agencies will also protect against “viral challenges”

The lives of Venezuelan children and adolescents cannot be dominated by the interests of a company such as TikTok or any other social media technology firm that threatens the integrity and life of the children of Venezuelan families,” said the Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, to the officials of the national security and peace agencies, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 23rd Anniversary of Civil Protection (Protección Civil – PC).

Likewise, he instructed them to collaborate throughout Venezuela to prevent the spread of the so-called “viral challenges,” which are nothing other than an act of sabotage against the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela:

The call must be to be on alert; I told my colleagues from the State security agencies, to go to the schools, visit them, greet the teacher, the principal and the boys and girls, even if it is just one. (…) It is a task that we have to do because they are attacking our sons and daughters. Let’s all address this problem,” said the also Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace.

Let’s be prepared, because, look at what has been happening here, in the schools of Venezuela, I take this opportunity to say that it is not to alarm anyone, but (this is an attack) against our Homeland, imperialism has wanted to turn it into a great laboratory to harm our people. And in our schools and high schools, viral videos have become fashionable, downloaded by TikTok, most of them, where our boys and girls, the most precious thing we have, put their lives at risk for something wrongly called a challenge. Those who promote the use of social networks so that children take on this challenging activity, are murderers,» explained Cabello.

«So, let’s be careful, comrades, be careful, be as cooperative as possible and be throughout Venezuela to see things, listen to the people, to the wise communal councils; the people of the town, our people, let us listen and make the decisions that we have to make,» he exemplified.

The high official praised the vocation of service of the members of Civil Protection, firefighters, police, but also called attention to the responsibility of parents and representatives, teachers, so he insisted on addressing this matter with the State institutions, which must function.

Regarding the 23rd anniversary, Cabello reported that on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, a system of delivery of equipment, supplies, uniforms, vehicles will be activated immediately, so that the members can leave with higher levels of protection for themselves and for the society they serve: “I formally assume this commitment, we will be delivering recovered vehicles and equipment to Civil Protection and firefighters on a monthly basis, because with little we have to do a lot and we are going to do it.”

He noted that the extraordinary work they have been doing, which he described as superhero work, is a personal vocation where they put effort into doing things well and improving, risking their lives to save those of their neighbors:

We still have a long way to go, yes, but we are on the right path (…) President Nicolás Maduro sent them greetings and a big hug of congratulations for these 23 years and their word of commitment,” he said, recalling that, in the 7T Plan, security and attention to risk management is one of the national priorities.
