President Maduro ratifies call for dialogue with oppositions in Venezuela

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, ratified his call for dialogue with the oppositions in the country, during the broadcast of his 56th Con Maduro+ program:

I continue to ratify my call in different instances. And through the Five Generations Movement, the documents that have been sent to me, I ratify my call for political dialogue with all oppositions and for the fight against fascism, for the oppositions to completely distance themselves from fascism”, he said.

The president of Venezuela challenged the opposition sectors, who believe in the democratic and electoral path, to join the dialogue for the country, warning that “otherwise they will simply be forgotten in history”.

Maintaining his position in favor of political dialogue and against fascism, the president reiterated his call to all opposition factions to completely distance themselves from any vestige of extremism.

President Maduro indicated that the opposition factions have the decision to follow a path of dialogue and political participation or fall into the spiral of extremism and violence, urging them to refocus their efforts on a unified leadership, pointing out the lack of cohesion and leadership within the opposition factions:

Today the opposition has no leadership. The political capital that they could have accumulated as voting intentions has separated from them. The opposition voter today feels totally disappointed, because they see that this lady, La Sayona (*), is going down the path of terrorism calling for the invasion of Venezuela, calling for sanctions against Venezuela; and the people do not want violence, the people do not want external threats, the people do not want sanctions, the people wants to work”, he stressed.

«The opposition has to reorient itself,» said the head of state, expressing his hope that they will find the courage and determination to reorganize themselves on a democratic Venezuelan path.

*: “La Sayona” is the name of a character, a ghoulish woman in the Venezuelan lore. In this case, it’s a reference to opposition leader María Corina Machado.
