The 11th Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), held this Monday at Miraflores Palace, issued a statement strongly condemning any coup attempt in Venezuela and denouncing the brutal communication war that is being carried out against the country.
The document, read by the head of State and Government, Nicolás Maduro, expresses the support of the unionist bloc to the Venezuelan government, recognizing the work and leadership of the Venezuelan president in the face of the fiercest onslaught of transnational powers.
The statement condemns coup attempts, as they are the violent, illegal and unconstitutional path that threatens democracy, peace and life itself.
ALBA-TCP also strongly repudiates, among other things, the brutal communication war, full of hatred, intolerance, discrimination and contempt, on social networks, strategically directed at the younger generations of Venezuelan society, victims of disinformation and hyper-information in order to promote violence, vandalism and barbarism.
The unionist bloc also denounces the lack of recognition of the official results of the electoral process by a sector of the opposition, specifically the extreme right wing.
The declaration recalls that this sector has openly requested interventionism and more sanctions for the country, and that it had already shown its coup intentions by not signing the agreement to respect the electoral results, promoted by the National Electoral Council on June 20.
The declaration of the 11th Extraordinary Summit of ALBA-TCP represents a new support for the Venezuelan government by the member countries of the unionist bloc, who condemn the attempts at destabilization and the communication war that is being carried out against the South American nation.
