From Lara state, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, signed the Organic Law of the People’s Power, for its promulgation, after being updated with 18 new articles so that organized communities exercise the full right to sovereignty and the participatory, leading democracy promoted by the national government.
During the signing, the head of state expressed his enthusiasm and dedication towards updating the aforementioned statute: “Here at the root of El Maizal, where this debate arose, with pleasure and commitment for all the community members, I sign the implementation of the completely updated Organic Law of the People’s Power.”
With the reform of this law, were incorporated the previous articles (10), and eight new ones were introduced, designed to strengthen the mechanisms of citizen participation, changes that seek to facilitate the creation of more fair and equitable conditions for the exercise of communal power. It is important to mention that, with the implementation of the Law of the People’s Power, Venezuela is moving towards a greater inclusion of its citizens in the decision-making processes for the development of the nation.
