Attorney General denounces Caracol TV media operation against Venezuelan justice

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, denounced the Colombian Caracol Televisión network for participating in a media operation to disqualify the work of the Public Ministry in Venezuela, as indicated in statements about new conspiracies that threaten peace in the country: “Caracol Televisión, you are apologists for terrorism and crime.”

In this sense, the prosecutor explained that the Colombian television station presented “a rubbish report, to say that Ányelo Heredia was a poor panhandler. In recent days, the channel aired a disgusting report, in which they attempt to whitewash the conspirators of Operation White Bracelet.”

He indicated that Caracol Televisión “participates in a media operation, to disqualify all the work we have done, together with the security forces, to dismantle these conspiracies, which has prevented the destabilization of the country.”

In that order of ideas, he pointed out that “it is impressive, how for international media, everything that is violence against the country, attempted coups d’état, assaults and bathing Venezuela in blood is presented, whenever the State acts, as a political persecution”.

He indicated that “in this false report not a single source from Colombia is cited. It is built with the statements of the conspirators themselves and with alleged quotes from intelligence reports from US agencies.”

He recalled that Caracol Televisión is owned by the Santo Domingo group, which, according to Bloomberg, is the richest family in Colombia, with a fortune of about twelve billion dollars, and owners of 23 media outlets in that country.
