The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, accepted this Saturday the nomination by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), as a presidential candidate for the elections on July 28:
“Given the decision that the people in the territory have made and that has ratified this 5th Extraordinary Congress of the PSUV and this 4th Extraordinary Congress of the JPSUV, I tell you that I accept the presidential candidacy for the elections on July 28,” he expressed. the head of state from the Poliedro de Caracas, where the proclamation ceremony took place.
Before the representatives of the communities, the Bolívar Chávez Battle Units (UBCh), the leaders of the PSUV and the JPSUV, the now official candidate of the Bolivarian Revolution, stated that: “In here there is only one destiny, the popular victory on December 28. July”.

Also, he highlighted that a total of 4,240,032 PSUV militants nominated him as a presidential candidate in 317,187 base assemblies:
“257,215 street assemblies were held, that was on a Thursday. The next Friday, in just 48 hours, community assemblies were called, and 44,737 community assemblies were held with their leaders and work teams; and then on Saturday the glorious Bolívar-Chávez Battle Units met, 15,234 UBCh,” he confirmed.
“The PSUV has made an exemplary exercise of the people’s method, from the bottom up, to make this decision. Only a few ones spread these numbers, because it hurts and makes the oligarchs, the surnames itch,” he expressed.
The Dignitary thanked the participation and nomination of the youth of the party, the members of the National Directorate of the PSUV, the organized people of the communities and the UBCh, and highlighted the feeling of love and patriotism that characterizes Chavismo:
“What is Chavismo? It is a family full of love for the Homeland, Chavismo is the Bolivarianism of the 21st century, married to the ideas of all generations. We are moved by love for what is ours, for history. I am here for you, for your strength, for your intelligence,” he stressed.
