“The solution in Haiti has to be the comprehensive economic and social support, and seeking pacification through other methods,” proposed the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, expressing that the criminal gangs that are plaguing that Caribbean country, is the product of a century of American interventionism and support of dictatorships by the imperial capitalist system.
“We have to understand what is happening in Haiti and more than 100 years ago interventionism, dictatorships, imposed on the Duvaliers, years there, investigate and when the 21st century came in the rebirth, one day we Latin Americans woke up with the news that a Gringo plane entered and kidnapped President Arístide and threw him in Africa and imposed another dictatorship in Haiti,” recalled the head of state, during the Zona Digital segment of his “Con Maduro+” program, where he analyzed current international news.
In Haiti, criminal gangs have taken over important areas of the country, where they have challenged the authorities, which has led to the eventual armed intervention of foreign forces:
“Haiti has been dismembered and martyred by US interventionism and from within, then the destructive force of anti-values due to drug trafficking that took over Haiti, the assassination of the president a while ago was commissioned by Colombian and US drug trafficking ( where there is the highest consumption of illegal drugs in the world.”
“There is an uprising of criminal gangs. Who is behind that? Very powerful bands. “Who armed them?”, the national leader stated, where he revealed that war weapons used by criminals on the Haitian island come from American soil. “Why didn’t the US government do anything?” Who benefits from chaos in Haiti? Who comes asking for invasion? Let’s draw conclusions.”
President Maduro said that thanks to Haiti’s revolutionary history, Bolívar was able to liberate Venezuela and Latin America, since the black Jacobins of Petión helped the Liberator with his independence project. And they do not forgive Haiti for that.
In this aspect, the head of state compared this current Haitian situation with what they tried to happen with the guarimbas (riots) of 2014, 2017 and the recently defeated conspiracies in Venezuela.
It was the plan to finance and support the criminal gangs that systematically acted in the streets of jurisdictions governed by the Venezuelan right wing, to chaoticize the country, provoke an internal war and make the national economy sink again. But in Venezuela they failed, he stressed.
