The news agencies of the United States, The Voice of America and the Associated Press, distorted the words of President Nicolás Maduro in his speech this Sunday at the commemoration of February 4, Day of National Dignity, by headlined a quote out of context and manipulated, where the president supposedly claims to win the presidential elections “by hook or by crook.”
“#I denounce that @VoiceOfAmerica (White House propaganda organ), and the @AP_noticias News Agency (CIA media outlet) are blatantly lying, distorting President @NicolasMaduro’s speech with a manipulated headline. See for yourself in what context and in relation to which the president used the expression ‘by hook or by crook’,” pointed out the also sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism through a post on the X social network accompanied by a video with the fragment of the speech:
“People of Venezuela, in the face of any circumstance or oligarchic imperialist invention, (must remain) calm and sanity… nerves of steel, maximum unity and civil-military mobilization, that the team wins. And we are going to win, by hook or by crook. We are going to win, we will always win,” were the words of President Maduro in his speech, which was used by American news agencies to give it an electoral political context, when in reality the president was guiding the people regarding the extremist conspiracies that threaten the peace of the Republic.
The distorted information was immediately taken up by international media that have dedicated their campaigns against the Venezuelan government, justifying extremism and promoting sanctions against the Venezuelan people.
In 2023, five conspiracies against the Venezuelan government were dismantled by intelligence agencies, which had the purpose of assassination, as denounced weeks ago the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab.
President Maduro denounced in his Annual Message to the National Assembly that it is a continued coup d’etat carried out by extremist political factors with a hidden agenda.
These 2023 conspiracies were carried out while the delegations for dialogue from the government and the opposition carried out the negotiation process that led to the Barbados Agreements signed by the parties last October.
